Are you ready to step back in time and experience life as a World War One soldier?

Time Jump Histories presents the World War One Training School — an exciting, hands-on historical experience where children and adults can become recruits and discover what it was like to prepare for military service during the First World War.

Under the guidance of our historical instructor, recruits will be put through their paces as they learn about the training, discipline and daily life of soldiers during the Great War.

 

 

🎖️ WHAT WILL RECRUITS EXPERIENCE?

Participants may be challenged to:

  • Report for recruitment and receive their soldier's identity.
  • Learn military drill and follow commands as a wartime recruit.
  • Practice marching and formations as a military unit.
  • Learn about soldiers' uniforms and equipment.
  • Take part in teamwork and communication challenges.
  • Experience a simulated military training exercise.
  • Discover what life was like for ordinary soldiers during World War One.
  • Complete their training and earn the title of a World War One Trained Recruit.

The activity is designed to be fun, engaging and educational, allowing participants to experience history rather than simply hear about it.

 

📚 HISTORY BROUGHT TO LIFE

Throughout the training, our instructor introduces participants to the realities of the First World War, including recruitment, military discipline, uniforms, equipment, daily routines and the experiences of the men who served.

The workshop provides a child-friendly introduction to the period while encouraging participants to ask questions, work together and engage directly with history.

The World War One Training School is suitable for ages 5+, with activities adapted so that children, teenagers and adults can all participate together.
