A life inside a medieval castle offers an immersive experience where students can learn about medieval architecture, daily routines, and social hierarchy through hands-on activities like armour crafting and role-playing as knights, nobles, or servants, bringing history vividly to life and fostering a deeper understanding of medieval society.

workshop offers 

  1. Dress Up Time: We provide costumes for the children to dress up as chriter the help tell the stories.
  2. What is a Knight? 
  3. History of castles and their use: 
  4. Life at the medieval castle. Hands-on experiences like dressing up in period-appropriate hats and adopting character cards to role-play different medieval figures—such as a squire, a merchant, or a blacksmith.
  5. The layout of a Castle: This activity includes a beautifully hand-drawn diagram of what a medieval Castle might have looked like. Working in pairs, the children’s task is to work out what the names of the sections of a castle are and write them in.
  6. How A Knight Shall Be Armed: See what it takes to prepare for battle, dress the knight in full armour from head to toe.
